# Send an email

Create a new exchange or transfer an email from your Inbox.

You can create a new conversation or forward an email from the Inbox. Each sent message creates an interaction that you can then track and handle like the other conversations.

### Start an email conversation

{% stepper %}
{% step %}

#### Open a new conversation

From the Inbox, click the compose icon in the top left.
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

#### Choose the sending address

In the field **From**, select the sender address. The available addresses are those configured for your brands and locations.

You can search for an address, then select the one for the relevant brand or location.
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

#### Enter the recipients and subject

Enter one or more addresses in the field **To**. Click on **CC** to add carbon copy recipients.

Then add your email subject.
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

#### Write and send the email

Write your message in the editor. Use the toolbar to format it or add an attachment.

Click on **Send** when your email is ready.
{% endstep %}
{% endstepper %}

### Forward an email <a href="#transferer-un-email" id="transferer-un-email"></a>

From an email interaction, click the forward icon at the top right of the message to be forwarded. Enter the recipients, complete your message, then click on **Send**.

### Write with AI

Click on **AI** in the editor toolbar to generate or improve your email. You can ask the AI to draft a message from your instructions, or to rewrite the text already entered.

Select the AI agent suited to your needs. The agent can use the knowledge bases associated with it to draft an email that matches your information and brand tone.

Always check the generated content, recipients, and attachments before sending.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://docs.fullwhere.com/documentation/documentation-en/inbox/send-an-email.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
